I’m Emily. 19. Public relations student. Aussie. Crazy cat lady. YA writer.

1) I write YA novels occasionally. I write anything from f/f romance to Alice in Wonderland retellings to ballet murder mysteries. I’ve done NaNoWriMo five times and it doesn’t look like I’m stopping anytime soon.

3) I’m left-handed.

4) My favourite colour is all of them and nobody can stop me.

5) I like my cats more than people.

6) I’m currently a check-out chick at Woolworths while also studying public relations and digital + social media. Next year I’ll also start international studies, and as part of that I go overseas for a year during 2019. Don’t worry, I’ll blog about it.

  • Hey, I know you said that your new blog is hosted on Blue Host (right?), and I was curious about something. I’ve been exploring Creative Whim lately, and it says that the themes are only available on self-hosted sites. So how does it work with Blue Host? Thanks!

  • Hi Emily! Your blog is awesome, and I can’t wait to read more! I just started my own book blog, and I would really appreciate it if you could visit/follow/comment on it –

Thanks so much! Keep up the good work!

    • Thanks so much, Paige! Love the look of your blog πŸ˜€

  • Hi!
You might not know this, but we are twins. Quite literally. I think they separated us at birth because it would have been too much awesomeness in one place (that’s why I’m all the way in Canada while you are in Australia)
But seriously? I mean: I love yellow, I’m a HUGE HP fan, I’m 17, I like cats more than people too, and I can do a French accent. ^^
I read one of your post and I’m already in love with your blog!
Anyways, I think our parents have some serious explaining to do if you ask me;)

    • Thank you so much! Although actually there are lots of book blogs around πŸ˜€

  • YOUR BLOG (ESPECIALLY ITS ICONS) ARE SOOOOOOO PRETTY!! Where’d you find the gorgeous Goodreads and Twitter buttons? And the search bar? Did you – *gasp* – did you….. MAKE them??? *jaw drops in utter wonder* My aesthetic-loving insides are SCREAMING in joy! πŸ™‚ *bows and praises a bunch because my blog is ugly af but it’s okay*

    • Aww thank you so much! But no, I didn’t make them…I’m not that good πŸ™‚ I won the theme from Ashley @ Nose Graze!

  • You can win a theme!? Who knew. I’m really slow with this tech business. But in reading the comments, I think you and your Dopplemeyer(sp?) Sophie (from Canada) may have stumbled upon the beginnings of a YA book plot. HMMMMMM???

    • I didn’t know either! So there you go.

      AND YES. Ideas everywhere πŸ™‚

  • OOOPS! Sorry Sophie/Emily! That should have been DoppelgΓ€nger not Dopplemeyer. Totally different guys! Clare

  • NO WAY! I didn’t realize you were 17 (I’m 16). You write like you are so much older than that! I adore your blog so much and you write with so much voice that you couldn’t be anything but amazing.

(On an unrelated note, I was wondering if you do tags. I’m not sure if I have ever seen you do them before, and don’t want to tag you if you don’t do them. Let me know πŸ™‚ If I end up posting it before you see this, just ignore the tag. :))

    • HAHA. Actually I’m 18 – I forgot to update this. Oops. I should probably do that. AND AWW THANK YOU SO MUCH *tackle hugs*

I do tags occasionally if they look like fun πŸ™‚ There just haven’t been many around at the moment!

  • Hello! I really love your blog, and I found you through the wonderful Pineapple Queen, Cait of Paperfury. Hope you have an awesome day! Cheers, Em.

    • EEK. That makes me so happy πŸ™‚ And props to Cait for featuring me, haha.

  • Hey! I really love your blog πŸ™‚ I’m just starting out but your space is such an inspiration. Do keep writing often. It’s a joy to read your work.

    • Oh, thank you so much!! That absolutely made my day πŸ™‚

  • Grace Osas

I honestly doubt you can do an Irish accent… as a person who lives in Ireland, I see people doing Irish accents and their attempts are rather… hm….

But you never know, you never know…

    • HAHA. That’s how I feel about people doing Aussie accents πŸ˜‰

  • Hi Emily!! I saw your Bookstagram recently and I am so jelly of your colorful theme (which is what I’m trying to do with me). I hope we can be blogging buddies too πŸ™‚

    • AWWWW thank you so much. *runs to check out your blog because blog buddies are awesome*

  • We see you saying you can do an Irish accent and we’re thinking “Can you, can you really though?” We like that your favourite colour is yellow because we think yellow is underappreciated.

    • Well, I don’t blame you for thinking that! It’s the same thing I think about people who say they can do an Aussie accent πŸ˜‰ But yellow is definitely an excellent colour.

  • Hey! My sister’s also doing international relations – she’s studying North America.
Your bookish pics are gorgeous by the way πŸ˜‰
    Simi ~

    • Oh, how cool! International studies should be very fun, I think πŸ™‚
